Victor Careaga

Forestry Engineer

Victor is a forestry engineer and manages the forestry department for Atenil/Victoria Paraguay. Victor has vast experience working in forestry and carbon inventories throughout Paraguay. From 2011 – 2012, Victor worked with Guyra Organization Paraguay as lead coordinator for all forestry fieldwork team, installation, and collection of quantitative and qualitative data with emphasis on the Reduction of Greenhouse Gas (GHG) emissions due to deforestation and degradation of forests in the Atlantic Forest ecosystem. Victor has worked as lead forest inventory coordinator for Guyra, Wildlife Conservation Society, and the National University of Asunción. Most notably, Victor coordinated and supervised forestry data collection for the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) for the National Joint Program UN REDD+ project in Paraguay. Victor graduated from the Forestry Engineering Career (CIF), at the Faculty of Agricultural Sciences (FCA), National University of Asunción (UNA) with a degree in Forestry Engineering.
